Road trip checklist for babies
Here is my list of what to include in the backseat when you’re roadtripping with a baby:

My favorite travel diaper bag
The Getaway Bag is my favorite travel diaper bag for babies, toddlers, and even bigger kids.
If you love to be ultra-organized, this is the perfect carry-on for you. It was designed by parents, and they have created a pocket or a compartment for everything you could possibly need for your little one. I love it.
1. Diapers and wipes
2. Changing pad
If you purchase the Sidekick along with your Getaway Bag, it comes with a foldable changing pad.
3. Change(s) of clothes
4. Disposable or wet bags
Plastic bags for dirty clothes, or diapers in a pinch. You can also use a reusable wet bag. (If you’re using the Getaway Bag, there is a built-in wet bag in the bottom compartment! I told you, the creators of this bag have thought of everything!)
5. Burp cloths & bibs
6. Feeding supplies
These might include:
- Bottles
- Formula
- Milk packed in a cooler
- Formula
- Breast pump
- Nursing cover
7. Snacks
If your baby is old enough to eat solid food, I would recommend low-mess snacks such as yogurt melts and pouches.
8. Pacifiers
9. Travel toys, teethers, books
Whatever will keep your baby entertained. Be sure to bring a few favorite books, toys, and teethers.
10. Window sunshade
This can be really helpful for keeping the sun out of your baby’s eyes during a long car ride.
Road trip checklist for toddlers
Here is my list of what to include in a road trip bag for a toddler:
1. Diapers/pull-ups and wipes
2. Portable potty or potty seat
For bathroom stops along with way
3. Change(s) of clothes
In case of accidents and spills, it’s nice to have an extra outfit in an easy-to-access car bag, so you don’t have to dig through luggage in the back.
4. Disposable or wet bags
Plastic bags for dirty clothes, or diapers in a pinch. You can also use a reusable wet bag. (If you’re using the Getaway Bag, there is a built-in wet bag in the bottom compartment! I told you, the creators of this bag have thought of everything!)
5. Water bottle/sippy cup
6. Snacks
7. Bib
8. Travel toys and books

Here is my list of what to include in a road trip bag for kids.
1. Change(s) of clothes
In case of a spill or accident, it’s easier to have one change of clothes handy in the car so that you don’t need to dig through luggage by the side of the road.

4. Toys, books, and travel activities

For coloring or doing activities
6. Tablet
7. A favorite blanket, pillow, or stuffed animal
Road trip checklist for parents
Here is my list of what parents can include in their road trip bags:
1. Wallet
2. Phone & charger
3. Keys
(Although you probably don’t need the reminder- you wouldn’t get far without these!)
4. Snacks & drinks/water bottles
5. Pillow
6. Change of clothes
This is mostly here for parents of babies who sometimes might need to change after getting spit up or pooped on.
7. Hand sanitizer
8. Audio entertainment
Plan out a few good podcasts, playlists, or audiobooks to listen to.
9. Trash can/bag
10. Tissues
Or paper towels- for spills, messes, etc.
