Personal pizzas are a family dinner favorite around here!
Everyone loves making their own pizzas and picking their toppings. And we love our pizza oven, which we can use right in our own backyard.
Here’s how to do it:

I use my favorite lidded containers to prepare all our toppings ahead of time.
I cut up our veggies (peppers, onions, and mushrooms.)
We like to precook our veggies, because we prefer them soft rather than crunchy.
I add cheese and pepperoni, and pop the container into the fridge until it’s time to make the pizzas.
I also use pre-made sauce from Walmart to keep things simple, unless I’m feeling wild enough to make my own.
2. Prep the dough
We love buying pre-made refrigerated dough from Walmart as well.
I divide each bag of dough into 3 parts, which ends up being the perfect size for personal pizzas when they’re rolled out.
I bake each pizza crust in the oven for 3-5 minutes at 350 degrees. (Not totally baked through, but enough that it can easily slide off the pan.)
This is a great trick to keep the pizzas moving quickly in and out of the pizza oven once everyone starts making their pizzas. 😉
3. Make the pizzas
My kids love putting their own sauce, cheese, and toppings on their pizzas.
And I love that I can add peppers and onions to my own pizza without any kids complaining!
4. Cook em up!

Once the pizzas are made, my husband uses a pizza peel to slide each one into our pizza oven. (We have the peel from this set, and this pizza oven.)
It only takes a minute or two to cook because it gets so hot.
Note: The oven does need to heat up for about 10 minutes before it’s ready for the first pizza. We’ve found this thermometer to be very helpful to make sure it’s hot enough before we get started.
And that’s it! Such a fun family dinner, and a perfect chance to get out and enjoy your backyard.
Happy pizza-making!
