“No one reads blogs anymore.”
Nope, not true.
I know. I have a blog, and lots of people come and visit me here every day. You’re here, aren’t you? 🙂
I blog because I really enjoy it. It’s a great creative outlet for me.
Aaaaaand it’s also a great way for me to make a little bit of money.
Right now, this blog brings in a few thousand dollars every year. That’s money that helps me to support my family.
I love being a stay-at-home mom, and I could not be more grateful for the extra income that helps make it possible for me.
How I make money blogging
I have 3 basic sources of income from my blog. They are:
1. Advertising
I use two different ad networks: Google Ads on The Organized Mom Life and Mediavine for Laura’s Plans. Advertisers pay to place ads on my websites, and my ad networks give me a portion of those proceeds. All together, ad payments make up about half of my blogging income.
2. Product sales
I have 3 different digital products that I created that are for sale on my blog: my Pregnancy Planner, the Preschool Planner, and The Ultimate Mom Life Planner. Sales from these digital products make up about a quarter of the income I make from my blogs.
3. Affiliate income
I’m an Amazon affiliate, which means that I can recommend products that I love to my readers. If you decide to buy an item that I recommended, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Those commissions add up to another quarter of the money I make blogging.
I’m also an affiliate for a service that I support called Tailwind. (They help on the Pinterest side of blogging- where most of my readers find me- and are amazing.)
Thank you!
So now you know how I make money blogging. And I just wanted to take a second to say thank you! I love blogging, and I really wouldn’t be able to keep doing it if it wasn’t for you, and all of my other wonderful readers.
Thank you for supporting me- I’m just a regular mom who loves to blog and can’t believe she’s lucky enough to get to do it while staying at home with her kids full time.
I appreciate you!
-Laura
