Toddlers snack a lot.
At least, that’s what it can seem like when you’re the mom in charge of thinking up snack ideas every day!
Which is why today I’m sharing a big list of easy toddler snack ideas that you can go to when you run out of your own ideas!
Toddler snacking tips that have worked for me
Snacking on leftovers
I love checking the fridge for leftovers to reuse for snack-time. You might be surprised to see things like soup on the list below… but if you happen to have some in your fridge, and your toddler will eat it, why not heat up a small bowl for a healthy afternoon snack?
Offering a variety
Does every toddler like to think that they’re in charge, or was that just my kids?!
Either way, I find that my toddlers were always happiest when I gave them 2-3 snack choices.
That doesn’t mean it has to be complicated. For example, I might put out a graham cracker, a few raspberries, and a dab of yogurt for dipping. Then my kids could choose what/how they wanted to eat.
Knowing the choking hazards
Make sure you know what’s safe for your child’s age. Some of the snacks below might need to be cut up into safe sizes/shapes.
I’m a fan of baby led weaning, and found the chapter on choking in this book to be really helpful in understanding how to keep my kids from choking.
OK, that’s all the tips I have. On to the list!
