Summer activities for kids: Printable calendar

Summer activities for kids: Want some fun, easy activities to do with your kids this summer?

I created a printable calendar with links to an entire month of themed activities, including snacks, science experiments, art projects, and trip ideas.

And if you want to follow along while my kids and I try out these activities, be sure to follow along on Instagram or on Facebook for our reviews!

Download the calendar here!
(Link not working? Click here.)

The calendar above includes 28 fun summer activities for kids. Most of the activities are clickable, and will lead you to a link with more information about the activity.

Here’s an overview of the activities along with links:

Science Sunday

When you use this calendar, Sundays are for science!

I picked out 4 science experiments that are super easy, don’t require a lot of materials, and are really fun to do for any age. They are:

  1. Color changing milk
  2. Bubble in a bubble
  3. Walking on eggshells
  4. Floating water

Mix it up Monday

On Mondays, your kids will be doing activities that they’ve done before… but in a slightly different way than normal.

  1. Eat a spaghetti dinner, but with crazy utensils
  2. Draw with sidewalk chalk… after dunking it in water
  3. Have a sleepover right in your own living room
  4. Take a bath… with glow sticks

Take a trip Tuesday

Tuesdays will be for taking trips:

  1. Visit a new playground: You can use this app to find one.
  2. Take a hike: This app will show you all the hikes near you.
  3. Night walk with glow sticks (My kids loved doing this last year- here’s a video of what we did.)
  4. Picnic lunch: Pack up some food and eat it somewhere outside

Artwork Wednesday

For Wednesdays, I picked out 4 summery art projects that I think kids of all ages can enjoy:

  1. Dandelion thumbprint art
  2. Andy Warhol project
  3. Outdoor name painting
  4. Sea star footprint art

Thoughtful Thursday

For Thursdays, I picked 4 activities that kids can do in order to make someone else’s day a little bit better.

  1. Bake cookies to take to a friend or neighbor
  2. Make and mail a card
  3. Face time a relative
  4. Invite a friend to dinner (Older kids could even be in charge of cooking!)

Food Friday

Summer is a fun time to try out some new treats, or revisit an old favorite. These are all fairly simple, but so yummy!

  1. Rainbow fruit cups
  2. Chocolate frozen bananas
  3. Root beer floats
  4. S’mores dip

Sunshine Saturday

The last 4 ideas are all things that kids can do in the backyard on a bright sunny day:

  1. Water balloon baseball
  2. Giant bubbles
  3. Magic potions
  4. Outdoor toy painting
