Summer activities for kids: Want some fun, easy activities to do with your kids this summer?
I created a printable calendar with links to an entire month of themed activities, including snacks, science experiments, art projects, and trip ideas.

The calendar above includes 28 fun summer activities for kids. Most of the activities are clickable, and will lead you to a link with more information about the activity.
Here’s an overview of the activities along with links:
Science Sunday
When you use this calendar, Sundays are for science!
I picked out 4 science experiments that are super easy, don’t require a lot of materials, and are really fun to do for any age. They are:
Mix it up Monday
On Mondays, your kids will be doing activities that they’ve done before… but in a slightly different way than normal.
- Eat a spaghetti dinner, but with crazy utensils
- Draw with sidewalk chalk… after dunking it in water
- Have a sleepover right in your own living room
- Take a bath… with glow sticks
Take a trip Tuesday
Tuesdays will be for taking trips:
- Visit a new playground: You can use this app to find one.
- Take a hike: This app will show you all the hikes near you.
- Night walk with glow sticks (My kids loved doing this last year- here’s a video of what we did.)
- Picnic lunch: Pack up some food and eat it somewhere outside

For Wednesdays, I picked out 4 summery art projects that I think kids of all ages can enjoy:
Thoughtful Thursday
For Thursdays, I picked 4 activities that kids can do in order to make someone else’s day a little bit better.
- Bake cookies to take to a friend or neighbor
- Make and mail a card
- Face time a relative
- Invite a friend to dinner (Older kids could even be in charge of cooking!)
Food Friday
Summer is a fun time to try out some new treats, or revisit an old favorite. These are all fairly simple, but so yummy!
- Rainbow fruit cups
- Chocolate frozen bananas
- Root beer floats
- S’mores dip
Sunshine Saturday
The last 4 ideas are all things that kids can do in the backyard on a bright sunny day:
