Mason jar Christmas gifts

Here are a few homemade mason jar Christmas gifts you can make and give to neighbors or coworkers this year.

Last year we made homemade taco seasoning, granola, and Chex mix, poured them into mason jars, and attached a cute, homemade tag. They were a hit!

You can see the recipes we used below, and download the free printable tags.

Helpful supplies

You can dress your jars up by adding ribbon, cloth over the top, or festive string. Don’t forget the cardstock to make sure your labels come out nice and sturdy!

Chex mix

We love making our own Chex mix!

I loosely follow the Land O Lakes recipe, which you can find here.

But you can be creative and add whatever you like to your Chex mix. I love adding bagel chips, Cheez-Its, and my favorite: gluten free pretzels. (They are so much lighter and crispier than regular pretzels- try them and you’ll never go back!)

Granola

This is my favorite homemade granola recipe.

I love how customizable it is- she gives you options for different nuts and dried fruits, so you can choose all of your own favorites.

It is delicious, especially when you steal a little bit for yourself right off the baking sheet while it’s still warm. Plus, it will make your house smell amazing while it’s baking!

Taco Seasoning

To make our homemade taco seasoning, we loosely followed this recipe.

It works out really well to buy the huge bottles of spices from your favorite big box store.

I think I quadrupled the recipe to make enough for each mason jar, but you might need to play around with the amounts a little bit. (#mombrain!)

Instead of mixing everything up, I left the ingredients in layers so they would look really cool. Then the recipient can just shake everything up before using.

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!
