The Organized Mom Life

Simple organization for busy moms

Printable Inventory Sheet for Meal Planning

Have you ever had food go bad in your fridge because you forgot it was there, or couldn’t think of a good way to use it in time?

Ever bought something at the grocery store only to find out that you already had it at home?

Want to get better at cooking with the food that you already have and lower your food waste?

I have a solution for all of these problems for you! And it comes in the form of an inventory sheet that you can print right now.

Inventory sheet for meal planning: Inventory your food before you meal plan or grocery shop to help eliminate food waste and plan your meals around the food that you already have.

Here’s how it works:

Before you even start to think about your meals for the week, and before you head to the grocery store, print out one of these sheets and take a walk around your kitchen and pantry.

Start with your freezer. Open it up and poke around a little bit. Do you see any good ideas for dinners, sides, breakfasts or lunches? Jot them down.

You can also write down any foods or ingredients you see that are about to expire, or that you want to try to eat this week.

Then move to your fridge and pantry. Don’t forget to take a look at your produce!

You don’t have to write down every single food you see. Just write down any food that you know you want to incorporate into a meal over the next few days.

Sales

Next (if you want to) you can take a look at what’s on sale at the grocery store this week. Jot down a few ideas in the sale section. These might turn into good meal ideas for the week!
