Here are 25 of the best family Christmas movies for kids to watch this year. Of course, which movies you choose from this list will depend on how old your kids are, so you’ll see a range movies for different ages. But overall, this is a pretty good mix that we’ve enjoyed with our kids. Enjoy!

This version of The Grinch is sooo good! It will entertain your entire family.

3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966)

This is the original version of Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas, based on the book. It’s short, sweet, and sure to bring back memories for the adults in the room.

4. The Polar Express (2004)

The book is magical, and so is the movie. Such a good one to watch in your pajamas under the Christmas tree.

5. The Santa Clause (1994)

This movie (and the 2 that complete the trilogy) are my personal favorite Christmas movies. I just think they are so creative and hilarious, and my kids like to watch them with me too!

6. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)

Did you ever watch this movie as a kid? I can remember running upstairs to get into my pajamas and brush my teeth during the commercials before it came back on! π€£ That was a different time.

I like how this movie is a little bit slower-paced and calm, but still fun. My younger kids loved it.

15.Miracle on 34th Street

This is the oldest movie on this list, and the original was in black and white. I remember watching it as a kid, and laughing so hard at some of the lines. Now I think it’s so special to watch with my own kids.

This movie was another top favorite in my Instagram poll of best Christmas movies to watch with kids!

17. Adventures in Odyssey: Electric Christmas (1994)

This is a short animated movie showing what happens when 2 boys take a neighborhood decorating contest just a little too far.
18. The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

This movie has some fantastic music in it, and some very lovable characters to make what could be a bit of a scary movie just the right amount of silly and lovable.

19. The Star (2017)

This movie tells the original Christmas story- but from the animals’ points of view. It’s funny, it’s heartwarming, and it has quickly become one of our family’s favorites.
